Desert Dreams
About
Sometime during the past year, I started watching Yu-Gi-Oh! on YTV. The first few times I caught random episodes, they annoyed the hell out of me. It seemed like a blatant advertisement for a card game, along the lines of what Pokémon had been. But then they started reshowing the series from the beginning, and I got sucked in. There was a plot back there, behind the duels, and there was a terribly interesting story about a boy who shared headspace with a spirit from another time.
And somewhere along the way, Yami and Kaiba wandered into my head and took up residence. Call them soulbonds if you want. I call them houseguests. ^_~ (For more information on my views of Yugi and Yami's relationship, look here.)
So Desert Dreams was finally born, to house the fiction and artwork I felt compelled to create. (I'm not an artist. I don't claim to be, or aspire to be. But sometimes I have to scribble. Don't bother bitching if you think the art sucks. Thanks.) I dabble. Will the story ever get finished? Who knows? Depends on how talkative Yami is. Will the art ever get better? Who knows? I may someday convince someone else to CG them for me and find out the pics aren't half bad after all.
